Beginning Monday May 3, the Historic Chapel will be closed and the interior renovated in preparation for the Canonical Coronation of Our Lady of La Leche. During this time, Our Lady will be relocated to the Pilgrim Center Pavilion. Candles will be available for purchase in our gift shop and then be placed in this area. The Historic Chapel will reopen with the placement of the newly crowned Jesus and Mary on Oct. 10, 2021.

I am very disappointed, along with my parish, to not find an organized schedule for such an important moment in our nation and faith. Where can I find that information?
It seems as if Shrine has not made any effort to present the Canonical Coronation of the Image of Our Lady of La Leche to the faithful. Please let me know where I can be informed of how I can participate and what will be done on the Shrine grounds so as to manifest the greatness of this event.

Hi Laura,
We appreciate your comments. As you can imagine, an event of this degree takes a lot of planning and preparation. Living in a world suffering from the COVID19 virus, makes it challenging all the more. Everyone’s health and safety has certainly been taken into consideration and the details and schedule were finalized this month.
Earlier this month, a dedicated website for the Canonical Coronation went live and has been added to our site on a page for the Canonical Coronation: https://coronation.dosafl.com
This site has all the information, schedule, and resources and will be updated regularly if things change. All the faithful, including parishes and ministries, are redirected to this site with the latest information. We are happy to answer any questions you may have regarding this once in a lifetime liturgical celebration and kindly ask for your continued prayers and support of the National Shrine of Our Lady of La Leche at Mission Nombre de Dios. God bless you!
