The Eucharistic Congress will be held on Friday evening, June 17 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Gainesville, and on Saturday, June 18 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jacksonville. Each year, thousands of Catholics gather to renew their understanding of and devotion to the Eucharist and to celebrate as one faith, one family!
This year’s congress has an array of great speakers to help us deepen our understanding and appreciation of the Eucharist. These include:
. Archbishop Nelson Perez of Philadelphia
. Curtis Martin, CEO and founder of Fellowship of Catholic University Students (FOCUS) Ministries
. Joe Melendrez, a Catholic speaker and musical artist
. Marilyn Santos, associate director of the U.S. Bishops Secretariat of Evangelization and Catechesis.
Archbishop Perez is the keynote speaker for this year’s Eucharistic Congress. He will also give a presentation for those attending the Spanish track at Queen of Peace on Friday evening. Archbishop Perez is the principal celebrant of the Mass on Friday evening and Saturday morning, with Bishop Felipe Estévez concelebrating. The young adults will gather for a special Theology on Tap with Joe Melendrez after the Eucharistic Congress on June 18, from 7 to 9 p.m., at Legacy Ale Works, 14965 Old St. Augustine Road in Jacksonville.
